INTRODUCTION
Before I sing this song, I’d like to gently remind us all why we’re here today — to celebrate Dad’s life, his spirit, and the people he loved. Each of us may feel different things in this moment, but this time is for Dad, not for our own past sadness or private grief.
I’ve chosen to sing Bright Eyes because it holds a special meaning for me — a quiet way to feel connected to Dad, to his light that still lingers with us.
This is my way of honouring him, of saying goodbye — and I hope you’ll listen with that in your heart, keeping the focus where it belongs: on Dad, and the life we are here to celebrate.

LYRICS
Is it a kind a dream?
Floating out on the tide
Following the river of death downstream
Oh, is it a dream?
Theres’s a fog along the horizon
A strange glow in the sky
And nobody seems to know where it goes
And what does it mean?
Oh, is it a dream?
Bright eyes, burning like fire
Bright eyes, how can you close & fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
Is it a kind of a shadow?
Reaching into the night
Wandering over the hills unseen
Or, is it a dream?
There’s a high wind in the trees
A cold sound in the air
And nobody ever knows when you go
And where do you start
Oh, into the dark
Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can youclose and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
